2. General Information
We only process personal data of our users to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website along with our content and services. Processing generally takes place only with the user’s consent or on the basis of a legal permission (Art. 6(1) GDPR).
3. Hosting and Content Delivery
This website is hosted on WordPress.com, a service provided by Automattic Inc., 60 29th Street #343, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA. When you visit the site, technical information (server log files) is automatically recorded, including IP address, date and time of access, page requested, browser and operating system used. This data is used exclusively to ensure smooth operation and the security of our systems (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Images and scripts are delivered through Automattic’s content delivery network (domains such as i0.wp.com and s0.wp.com); your IP address is also transmitted to Automattic servers in this process. Since Automattic Inc. is a US-based company, data may be transferred to the USA; Automattic relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission for this purpose.
4. Cookies and Audience Measurement
Our website sets one technically necessary cookie (pll_language) that stores the language you have selected. According to our review, the website currently sets no other cookies. No consent is required for this. You can manage or delete cookies at any time via your browser settings.
To measure reach, we use the statistics function of WordPress.com / Jetpack (Automattic Inc.). When a page is loaded, data such as the page requested, browser information and the IP address is transmitted to Automattic servers (e.g. stats.wp.com, pixel.wp.com) and compiled into anonymized usage statistics. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in analyzing the use of our offering (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object to this processing by contacting us at the email address above.
5. Contacting Us by Email
If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide (e.g. your email address and the content of your message) solely to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for contract-related requests). We delete the data once it is no longer required for that purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply.
6. Your Rights
You have the right at any time to request information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of its processing (Art. 15 GDPR). You also have the right to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and the right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority regarding the processing of your personal data.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy to reflect changes in the law or in our services. The version published at the time of your visit applies.
